Students meet for breakfast, lunch and supper in our beautifully refurbished refectory.
A wide selection of appetizing, healthy food is freshly prepared by our professional chefs and catering team. All meals offer a choice of foods to cater for personal and cultural preference. Dietary requirements can be catered for in most cases. House parents supervise breakfast and supper and eat with the students.
Every year we respond to the suggestions of the Student Council regarding the menus and food and in 2016 the students were very complimentary about the food the chefs cooked for them. We have a school policy on eating which we think is important for young people. We expect our students to eat responsibly [not to throw food away], healthily [eat a balanced of diet] and politely [eat with good manners].
The breakfast menu offers a choice of different types of food. There is a cold buffet with fruit, yoghurt, cereal, cold meats and cheese whilst the hot buffet has a cooked selection like sausages, eggs, bacon, beans or mushrooms. Juice, coffee, tea, croissants and toast are also available. A big breakfast is a great start to the day!
Lunch includes a selection of cooked meals like pizza, curry, roast chicken, or a vegetarian option. There is always a choice of fruit, vegetables, soup, salad and fresh bread. Desserts are always popular, fresh fruit and ice cream, jellies, yoghurts or a traditional cake.
Supper offers a contrasting menu with a full selection of meals to choose from.
On the days when the students are out on excursions, they take a packed lunch with them. The students have the opportunity to choose what goes into their lunch which includes; fruit, sandwiches, snacks, a chocolate bar and water.
We encourage students to understand healthy living and healthy eating and it is a great pleasure to witness the happy atmosphere and friendly behaviour in the refectory.
